Snowman Christmas procedure unit

In this procedure mini unit, students will follow the instructions to make a cute Christmas snowman. The series of lessons enable students to write their own instructions and create a Christmas display that covers essential curriculum practice.

With Learning Intentions and Success Criteria provided, you can justify this lesson as part of your English and use it for Christmas to keep the children happy!

This pack contains 3 levels of the same activity, 7 student pages and a page of teacher notes.

Easy level is very explicit. Short steps. Includes an example of what students should end up with.  Medium level, still very explicit. Includes no example of finished result increasing difficulty. Same instructions as easy level but steps are longer, same wording.  Hard level includes task but has no instructions to follow. Students write own instructions. Students follow someone else’s written instructions.

Vocabulary sheet Use to pre-teach words before you begin creating. Can be used as a spelling list or focus words

‘Parts’ for activity - 2 pages of parts to complete the “How to Make” activity. Includes two spare pieces to ensure students are reading instructions, not just gluing everything together.

Bonus page - A word work page is included as a bonus in this resource. Can be used as a lesson on its own, for fast finishers or homework.
