Creative writing prompts

Do your students need some help to begin their stories/creative writing tasks?  I have your answer.  This set contains 20 writing prompt cards with either a story starter or a list of ideas.

Story starters are kept quite open allowing students to continue the writing piece in their own style. (eg. “It was Spring. Ellie was so happy to see the beautiful flowers. She had been waiting for them to appear for ages.”) The second style of writing prompt contains a series of words/statements that they student may choose from to use in their story. These are based on the elements needed in a narrative: character, setting, event and an emotion. Both card types show an image for further ideas.

• 10 different images - both styles contain each background image

This resource has been created with Middle and Upper Primary students in mind, however depending on the abilities in your room, it may be used with others.
